| Course Description |
An examination of the musical life in nineteenth-century Australian through a series of case-studies that use archival and other primary sources. Studies will focus on some of the following topics: the role of the piano; opera; the choral society; music education; orchestral music; musical composition; music in the goldfields. |

One major written project (50%) and two minor projects (each 25%). |
