| Course Description |
This elective is designed to give percussionists and drummers an understanding of folkloric hand drumming techniques and pedagogy. Instruction will be given in a group class format and will incorporate Conga, Bongo, Kpalango and Djembe, as well a wide range of associated accessory percussion instruments. Pedagogical theories and styles will be examined. Students will perform in the following styles: Cuban, Afro Cuban and Brazilian. |
