| Course Description |
In this course students explore three different genres in writing through three complementary modules: literary, journalistic and biographic. Literatura enhances students' understanding and appreciation of the many facets of Spanish and Latin American literature through the study, exploration and analysis of short stories from classical to contemporary writers. Biografía leads students through the complex and comprehensive process from planning, researching and interviewing to the writing of the biography of a native Spanish speaker. Competencia Lingüística facilitates the linking of complex grammatical structures to written texts through the exploration of three main arguments structures. Collaborative discussion and problem-solving tasks enable students to apply these concepts creatively to argument structure in written language. |
| Learning Outcomes | On successful completion, the students' communicative skills should have reached an advanced level that will enable them to function effectively and confidently in Spanish in a variety of contexts.
