Course Description

This course involves further supervised work on the study project prepared in Thailand, and thus will be tailored to the needs of individual students. It will involve a bibliography, special readings and an extensive report written in Thai.

Learning Outcomes Desired learning outcomes for participants in THAI3501 (Year in Thailand Project)
The main objectives pertain to further improving a) language ability, b) cultural competence, and c) ability to conduct field study within the host culture and to effectively communicate their findings, both orally and in writing.
Indicative Assessment

Essay in Thai based on research carried out in Thailand (70%), regular oral tests (15%), oral exam (15%).

Workload

Available only to students taking the Bachelor of Asian Studies (Thai) or Bachelor of Translation (Asian Region) degree.

Note: Students must have permission of coordinator prior to departure on Year in Thailand
