Because the value of languages only arises with an understanding of the context in which they are used, students will also choose a Contextual major. Students doing a Security Studies major will choose courses pertaining to the area in which their language is spoken.

Requirements

First year commencing courses for the contextual major in this field of study are:

ASIA1025 Individual and Society in Asia and Pacific A
ASIA1030 Individual and Society in Asia and Pacific B

Students pursuing this field of study are required to follw-up ASIA1025 and ASIA1030 with:

STST2001 International security issues in the Asia-Pacific
STST2002 Internal security issues in the Asia-Pacific
