This program is designed for students wishing to pursue more advanced musical studies, or who wish to develop skills and knowledge in a related area of music study or to qualify for admission to a higher degree. The program is normally completed in one academic year (ie 2 semesters) full-time or the equivalent part-time.
Students may commence studies at the beginning of the first or second semester of the academic year except when enrolling in Pedagogy, which must commence first semester.
Prerequisites
For admission, account is taken of the nature and level of previous tertiary studies, and/or relevant professional experience, and the applicant's motivation and objectives in undertaking the program. Students are normally expected to audition where relevant, and be interviewed in person at the School of Music. For overseas and interstate applicants, a high quality audio/visual recording and/or folio of work may be considered as a provisional audition.
