This qualification offers students graduate coursework opportunities in strategic studies. Students are encouraged to develop frameworks for understanding the leading challenges in strategy and security policy and these approaches are explored in the context of the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre's main research and teaching concentrations: Australian defence and security issues, Asia-Pacific security and global strategic issues. The GDSS is suitable for students wishing to pursue careers in security, defence and foreign policy; intelligence; journalism; international organisations and related fields.

Admission Requirements
Applicants for the GDSS should have obtained, at minimum, a three year bachelor degree (with high credit average).
Applicants are required to submit a current Curriculum Vitae and the name and contact details of two academic referees to the Program Administrator.
Students who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Strategic Studies with a minimum grade of pass in each course and a 50% weighted average over all courses may be eligible for admission into the GDSS
