The Graduate Certificate in Public Administration is designed for men and women who:

  • have been working in a particular government agency in a developing or transitional country and want to widen their skills and knowledge to qualify for promotion or a new job. For example, students have come from the Statistics Office, the Ombudsman's office, or a regional government;
  • have been working in an aid agency and want to increase their skills in management, increase their understanding of development issues and gain a portable qualification. For example, students have come from AusAID or the Salvation Army; or
  • want to study and carry out research on practical or theoretical issues in development.

Prerequisites

Applicants should normally hold:

(1) a degree from a recognised university or other tertiary institution approved by the Admissions Sub-Committee of the Board of Studies that is equivalent to a degree of Bachelor from an Australian University; or

(2) relevant equivalent practical experience deemed by the Admissions Sub-Committee of the Board of Studies to qualify the student for admission and approved by the Prescribed Authority.
