Degree Structure

The degree includes four specialisations: Demography, Social Research Methods, Social Development and Policy and Social Science of the Internet. Students may choose courses for one of these specialisations, or choose to do the general degree. Three six-unit courses are compulsory for all specialisations and the general degree. Each specialisation has two additional six-unit compulsory courses.

Australian citizens and permanent residents have the option of taking the degree full time (one year) or part time (up to five years).  International students must enroll on a full-time basis.

Master of Social Research (general) :

18 units of compulsory courses, plus 30 units of electives, at least 18 of which must be from the Electives list.
