This program focuses on the nature and structure of language. It is undertaken by students interested in the description and explanation of particular languages or of human linguistic capabilities in general.
Prerequisites
Applicants should normally hold either a Bachelor degree with a major in linguistics or applied linguistics or a bachelor degree degree plus in another discipline plus the equivalent of the one-semester Graduate Certificate in Linguistics or Graduate Certificate in Applied Linguistics.
Overseas candidates from non-English speaking backgrounds are required to demonstrate that they meet the University's minimum English language requirements.
