Course Subject Visual Arts
Offered in First Semester, 2012 and First Semester, 2013

Course Description

Glass 3 provides students with intermediate skills in hand blown glass, kiln casting and advanced cold forming. Through technical demonstrations and hands on classes students expand their knowledge and develop an increasingly confident approach to working with glass. Thematic projects allow for more individual exploration of personal concepts and techniques.  A routine lecture and discussion group focuses on contemporary practitioners in the field of studio glass and contextualises their work within the wider visual arts. Group discussion and critique sessions where students show developing works and related contextual material to staff and students, further extend awareness of concepts and themes. Occupational health and safety instruction is integrated thought the syllabus.
