Course Description	This course focuses on key issues associated with valuing Mergers AND Acquisitions (M&A) transactions for a firm. The focus of the course is the interaction of strategy, finance and valuation. The course looks at why companies pursue M&A and the impact it has on a firm. The course applies various valuation approaches to understand how M&A deals are structured and implemented in practice.
Learning Outcomes	Upon successful completion of the requirements for this course, students will be able to: Analyse and assess corporate strategy Assess strategic positioning of the firm with reference to the economic environment Analyse and communicate the implications of valuation to overall corporate strategy Analyse and communicate details of forecasted cash flows Analyse and communicate details of cost of capital estimates Analyse and communicate the structure of takeover deals Work in teams and present results to investment professionals.
