Program Requirements

This program requires the completion of 144 units, of which:

A maximum of 60 units can come from the completion of 1000 level courses.

A minimum of 84 units must come from the completion of 2000 and 3000 level courses.

The 144 units must include:

48 units from the completion of one of the following majors:

24 units from the completion of one of the following minors, which cannot be in the same subject as the major:

24 units from completion of courses from the following subject areas in addition to the major and minor above or from the following list:

  • ANCH - Ancient History
  • CLAS - Classics
  • GREK - Ancient Greek
  • LATN - Latin
  • ARCH1111 - Archaeology: Finding treasure and history (6 units)
  • ARCH1112 - From Origins to Civilizations (6 units)
  • ARCH2037 - Post-Roman Archaeology of Britain: Arthur and the Anglo Saxons (6 units)
  • ARTH2038 - Byzantine Commonwealth (6 units)
  • ARTH2053 - Greek Art and Architecture (6 units)
  • ARTH2054 – Roman Art and Architecture (6 units)
  • DRAM1006 - Introduction to the Western Theatrical Tradition (6 units)
  • DRAM2014 - Experience of Theatre III: Greek, Roman and Medieval Theatre (6 units)

48 units from completion of elective courses which may be offered by the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences or any other College.
