Program Requirements

The combined program requires the completion of 192 units.

Where there is mention of Science courses, majors, minors and specialisations this refers to courses, majors, minors and specialisations that are offered or approved by the ANU College of Medicine, Biology and Environment and the ANU College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (see approved lists).


The Bachelor of Commerce component of the combined program offered by the ANU College of Business and Economics requires the completion of 96 units from List 1 of the College, of which:

 A maximum of 60 units can come from completion of 1000 level courses

A minimum of 36 units must come from completion of 2000 and 3000 level courses

The 96 units must include:

24 units from completion of the Business and Economics Essentials minor

6 units from completion of MGMT2100 Communication for Business

48 units from the completion of a major from the following list:

Accounting

Business Information Systems

Corporate Sustainability

Finance

International Business 

Management

Marketing

A minimum of 18 units from the completion of elective courses on List 1 of the ANU College of Business and Economics.

 

The Bachelor of Science (Forest Sciences) component of this program requires the completion of 96 units of Science courses, of which,

A maximum of 36 units can come from completion of 1000 level Science courses

A minimum of 36 units must come from completion of 3000 level Science courses

The 96 units must include:

78 units from the completion of the following compulsory courses:

ENVS1003 Environment and Society Research Methods

ENVS1004 Australia's Environment 

ENVS2004 Weather, Climate and Fire

ENVS2007 Economics for the Environment

ENVS2009 Quantitative Environmental Research Methods

ENVS2010 Australia's Forests

ENVS2015 GIS and Spatial Analysis

ENVS2021 Vegetation and Soils: Landscape Co-evolution and Ecology

ENVS3008 Fire in the Environment

ENVS3014 Ecological Restoration and Management

ENVS3028 Environmental Policy

ENVS3041 Managing Forested Landscapes

A minimum of 6 units of courses chosen from:

ENVS3007 Participatory Resource Management

ENVS3010 Independent Research Project

ENVS3039 Biodiversity Conservation in Modified Landscapes

ENVS3040 Solving Complex Environmental Problems

A maximum of 12 units from the completion of Science elective courses

 

 

Eligibility for a single degree prior to completion of combined degree requirements

To complete the requirements of the Bachelor of Commerce as a single degree please see the requirements stated under the single degree entry.

The completion of the Bachelor of Science (Forest Sciences) as a single degree program requires the completion of 144 units, of which:

A maximum of 60 units can come from completion of 1000 level courses

A minimum of 36 units must come from completion of 3000 level Science courses

The 144 units must include:

96 units of Science courses as required in the Bachelor of Science (Forest Sciences) component of this combined degree program

48 units from completion of courses offered or approved by the ANU College of Business and Economics
