Admission Requirements

  1. Applicants are required to hold a pass (Bachelor) degree in an analytical discipline with a performance in the last two years of the degree at an average of 70% or better (or overseas equivalent). Examples of some suitable disciplines include finance, economics/econometrics, psychology, mathematics, or engineering.
  2. Students who fail to meet the academic entry requirement at (i) above may be considered for entry if they are able to demonstrate a GRE/GMAT quantitative of 650 undertaken after graduation from a degree in any field.
  3. Minimum English proficiency requirements as detailed here
  4. The suitability of the students to enter the program will be at the discretion of the Dean.
  5. Students entering the program are also assumed to have an understanding of mathematics equivalent to one year of university level mathematics including calculus and algebra. Students who do not possess this assumed knowledge may undertake a mathematics bridging program

Admission Requirements

Ideally students will have a solid quantitative basis from which they will learn the methods taught in the course. This can be assessed based on performance (GPA) in quantitative focused degrees, or optionally assessed by use of external tests (e.g. GRE, GMAT or similar). Examples of what we seek from incoming students include:

  • Applicants are required to hold a pass degree from an Australian University, or equivalent overseas institution.
  • Students require a minimum requirement on GRE/GMAT quantitative of 650 OR have attained a minimum grade in an undergraduate degree majoring in finance, economics/econometrics, psychology, statistics, mathematics, engineering, physics, statistics or similar. For the minimum grade we require a GPA equivalent to a “70%” pass grade (or 3.0 GPA) or higher, in the last two years of their undergraduate.
  • Minimum English proficiency requirements.
  • TOEFL scores of at least 90, IELTS of at least 6.5 or a background in English (e.g. English based education system).
  • The suitability of students to enter the program will be at the discretion of the delegated authority.

There is no specific requirement to have taken business related topics. There is also no requirement for work experience.
