| Course Description |
This intensive 4-week course will provide students with an introduction to Burmese, with an emphasis on interactive use of the language in every day situations. There will also be an introduction to reading the Burmese script. The course will be run in intensive mode during Winter Session 26 June to 19 July 2013. |

Mid-course oral examination (20%), end of course oral examination (30%), instructors' assessment of classroom performance and participation (10%), written tests and assignments (40%). |

Minimum enrolment requirementThis course requires a minimum of 10 students for it to run. Burmese within the Asian Language MajorBurmese instruction is supported by the Southeast Asian Centre. Burmese may be included in the study sequence for most of the Asian languages on offer in the College, but students must satisfy the minimum requirements for their designated Asian language major and should seek advice from the Sub Dean or the relevant language convenor. |
