| Course Description |
Building on skills developed in MUSI2205 Music Performance Project 1, students undertake a project that uses creative practice -composition, performance, or music technology - to investigate a question of musical research. The project may be group-based or individual. Examples include: composition and performance of a music theatre work; research, rehearsal and performance of historically-informed early music works; or a participant-observer project with a performer or other specialist music practitioner. |

Assessment will include:
PROJECT PROPOSAL EXAMPLE 1: 1. Project proposal (200-250 words) (10%) 2. Reflective journal (2000 words) (50%) 3. Program notes or CD liner notes (1500 words) (30%) 4. Audio-visual recording of the performance (10%)
PROJECT PROPOSAL EXAMPLE 2: 1. Project proposal (200-250 words) (10%) 2. Reflective journal (2000 words) (50%) 3. Preparation of composition manuscripts (30%) 4. Audio-visual recording of the performance (10%)
PROJECT PROPOSAL EXAMPLE 3: 1. Project proposal (200-250 words) (10%) 2. Reflective journal (2000 words) (50%) 3. Development of a series of lessons plans for a particular learning environment (30%). 4. Audio-visual recording of a demonstration lesson (10%). |
| Workload |
The course will require the equivalent of 130 hours of student time. Total supervised/contact time will not normally exceed 35 hours, however students may be expected to be working for up to 105 hours in an authentic/workplace environment. |
