MGMT7170 Tools and Techniques for Business Project Management

Course Description The objective of this course is to provide an introduction to practical project management techniques applicable to business projects in the private and public sectors. Concepts and techniques covered may include project specification, work break down structures, scheduling, network analysis, resource management and budgeting, risk analysis, reporting tools such as Gantt and PERT network charts, contractual issues, and, project termination.
Learning Outcomes

On satisfying the requirements for this course students will have a practical understanding of tools and techniques for project selection, planning, reporting and tracking. Students will also understand the correct use of popular project management software.

Workload  5 x 4 hour class, 2x 8 hour class(not per week, entire term)
