| Course Description |
The economy of Japan since World War II; the course is concerned with the political economy of Japan and focuses on post-World War 2 economic growth, the development of economic institutions and on economic policy issues. |
| Learning Outcomes |
By the end of the course the students will have a good understanding of the operation of the Japanese economy and of how to apply economic analysis to current issues facing Japan. They will learn about the nature of public policy choices in Japan and they will also understand current issues in the Australia-Japan relationship. They will have had the experience of producing two pieces of written work, one of which is a research-based essay. |

Essay of 1,500 words (80%) and final examination (20%). Best grade will receive 67% / second best 33%. |
