| Course Description |
This course aims to extend the students' ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in spoken and written Spanish. This includes the study of Spanish grammar and vocabulary, and practical exercises to develop student capacity to use Spanish in unpredictable everyday situations. The course also introduces students to contemporary comics, comic novels and cultural issues in Spanish-speaking societies. |
| Learning Outcomes |
On successful completion, the students' communicative competence should enable them to function effectively in unpredictable situations of a Spanish-speaking environment. The students' communicative skills should have reached an intermediate level that will enable them to function effectively and confidently in Spanish. Students should be able to understand and use most of the grammatical structures when expressing themselves in oral and written form. They will have a sufficient range of language to describe unpredictable situations, and express thoughts on cultural topics expressed in comics. |

A mixture of tests (45%), assignments (50%), performance and participation in class (5%). |
