Requirements
At least 36 units consisting of:
- COMP1100 Introduction to Programming and Algorithms OR COMP1710 Tools for New Media
- INFS1001 Business Information Systems
- COMP2400 Relational Databases
- INFS2024 Information Systems Analysis
- INFS3024 Information Systems Management
- And any one of the following:*
To satisfy requirements for Professional level accreditation with the Australian Computer Society a minimum of 8 information systems courses (48 units) are needed in total in the degree, including 3 courses at third year level. The eight courses must be chosen from the list given above. The 3 third year courses must include INFS3024 Information Systems Management and INFS3059 Project Management and Information Systems.

The goal of the major in Business Information Systems is to develop skills and competencies in students that will enable them to embark upon a professional career in the ICT, information systems and associated industries. Specifically students develop skills in the design, specification and implementation of information systems in addition to understanding the financial and other resources required to assist organisations to effectively utilise information systems and technologies.
