Program Requirements

The combined degree consists of 196 units from the College of Asia and the Pacific, and the College of Medicine, Biology and Environment and College of Physical Sciences or related department (ie Department or School in the College of Medicine, Biology and Environment and College of Physical Science or the Department of Computer Science or the School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Applied Statistics).

Both the Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies and the Bachelor of Science (Forest Sciences) may be awarded with honours.  For more information please refer to the Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies degree at the ANU Website.  The Bachelor of Science (Forest Sciences) honours program requires the completion of a further year of 48 units of honours research.

The minimum requirement from each College is:

SCIENCE (FOREST SCIENCES)

At least 96 units including:

Asia-Pacific Studies
Courses to the value of at least 96 units taught in or approved by the College of Asian & Pacific Studies including:

  • Language courses forming a Regional language major, as defined in the College entry for the Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies, to the value of between 48 units and 60 units; and
  • Courses forming an approved Contextual major as defined in the College entry for the Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies, to the value of between 36 units and 48 units;
  • The combined degree maybe augment by one year study abroad in the Graduate Diploma in Asia-Pacific Studies Program


Admission to degree of Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies requires:
a total of 144 units including not less than 96 units of Asia-Pacific Studies courses as defined above.

Admission to the degree of Bachelor of Science (Forest Sciences) requires:
at least 144 units including:

• not less than 96 units of Science (Forest Sciences) courses as defined above

• further courses to the value of not less than 48 units taught in or approved by, either of the relevant Colleges.
