This program has been created in response to increased global demand for microscopy specialists who underpin a wide variety of research fields in the biological and physical sciences. The Centre for Advanced Microscopy at the ANU is a leading provider of microscopy services, and, by making use of novel teaching methods for the acceleration of learning and the development of expertise, is an ideal place to train researchers.
This is an on-line program only and students are not required to be on campus.
Students must maintain a minimum 65% average in all courses offered in Semester 1 to continue into Semester 2. Students who have not met the requirements in the first semester may opt to exit with a Graduate Certificate in Microscopy degree.
Admission Requirements
- A Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience is required. Entrance to this course is at the discretion of the Director.
- Appropriate access to scanning electron (SEM) and transmission electron (TEM) microscopes, sample preparation facilities, internet, and Skype must be assessed by the course convener prior to enrolment.
- Continuation to the second semester requires at least 65% passes in all courses offerred in Semester 1 of the program or at the discretion of the program convener.
