Master of Public Health
Degree Structure
The Master of Public Health program consists of 48 units of coursework. 18 units will be made up of compulsory courses. 30 units consist of graduate level elective courses approved by the course convenor.
The Core Courses are as follows:
- POPH8100 Fundamentals of Epidemiology (6 units)
- CHMD8004 Qualitative methodologies for health research (6 units)
- MEDI8203 Introduction to Health Policy and Administration (6 units)
Electives may be selected from most courses offered within the ANU College of Medicine, Biology and Environment with approval of the ANU Master of Public Health Course Convener. The Convener can also approve, in consultation with the Dean, courses undertaken at other universities.

- MEDI8205 Governing Public Health (6 units)
- MEDI8206 Public Health Research Project (6 units)
- MEDI8207 Public Health Research Project Development (6 units)
- LAWS8237 Health Law and Ethics (6 units)
- LAWS8153 Introduction to Legal Reasoning and Research (6 units)
- MGMT7029 Managing Change in Organisations (6 Units)
- MGMT7030 Management and Organisation (6 units)
- All courses approved for the Master of Culture, Health and Medicine Program
