Program Requirements

All course options undertaken in the program must have the approval of the graduate program convener in chemistry.

The program requires completion of one compulsory course: CHEM8004 - Research Proposal in Chemistry (6 units).  The remaining 18 units are made up of electives.  These include

  • CHEM6023 - Physical Aspects of Inorganic Chemistry (3 units)
  • CHEM6031 - Organometallic Chemistry (3 units)
  • CHEM8023 - Chemistry in the Pharmaceutical Industry - on-line 6 unit course
  • CHEM6006 - Materials Chemistry (3 units)
  • CHEM6012 - Topics in Biological & Organic Chemistry (3 units)
  • CHEM6022 - Spectroscopic Techniques in Biophysical Chemistry (3 units)
  • CHEM6032 - Topics in Modern Inorganic Chemistry (3 units)
  • CHEM8001 (Special Topics in Chemistry) (3 to 24 units)
  • Other courses by arrangement with the graduate program convener in chemistry
