Program Requirements

The MA(PAE) is a 72-unit coursework and research program. Candidates complete 48 units of coursework and 24 units of sub-thesis (15,000-20,000 words). The program may be taken n a full or parttime basis. During the second and third semesters students continue coursework at the ANU and undertake the sub-thesis component of the program.

The requirement for the award of the degree of MA(PAE) will normally be a minimum of Pass grade in each course, a Distinction average (70% or above) in the coursework component, and a Distinction for the sub-thesis. Students who do not meet this requirements will transfer to graduate with a Graduate Diploma of Arts (Professional and Applied Ethics)

Degree requirements

Students must complete two core courses, six elective courses and a sub-thesis course.

For students studying full-time the 48 units of coursework will be undertaken over three semesters and the 24 units of sub-thesis will be taken over two semesters. Part-time will usually take four to six semesters to complete.
