Program Requirements

This program is not currently available for new students in 2011. Students are instead encouraged to consider a Master of Business, specialising in Marketing (1 year full-time), or the Master of Business Adminsitration with a specialisation in Marketing (2 years full-time).

The program is 96 units consisting of 84 units of core courses and 12 units of elective courses.

Year 1 Marketing Core Courses (30 units)

MKTG7001 Marketing
MKTG7050 Consumer Behaviour and Analysis
MKTG7027 Marketing Strategy
MKTG7028 Marketing Communications
STAT7007 Advanced Marketing Research Methods

Year 1 Core Courses (12 units)

Students must complete at least two Year 1 core courses (total 12 units). These core courses deal with basic business skills.

INFS7040 E-Commerce for Managers
MGMT7030 Management and Organisations
BUSI7019 The Global Business Environment
FINM7007 Financial Management

Year 2 Core Courses (18 units)

Students must complete three Year 2 core courses (total 18 units).

MGMT8006 Management Research Methods
BUSN8038 Critical Thinking and Decision Making
BUSN7024 Project Management Principles

And any remaining Year 1 Core Course

Marketing Concentration Courses (24 units)

Students must select 4 courses to the value of 24 units from the following list.

MKTG7035 Global Marketing
MKTG7058 Applied Market Research

Elective Courses (12 units)

Elective courses to the value of 12 units of credit are to be chosen from the current postgraduate courses offered within the College.

Progression Requirement

Students must pass and achieve a grade average of 70% across the first 48 units attempted to progress to the second year of the program or to any other 2 Year Masters program in the College. Students who fail to achieve this requirement will be transferred to the Master of Business program.
